What to Pack for Your Adventure

Summer Hiking Essentials

For warm-weather hikes from May to October.

  • Sturdy hiking boots or trail shoes

  • Waterproof and windproof jacket

  • Spare layers and a long-sleeved shirt

  • Comfortable rucksack (20–30L)

  • At least 1 liter of water, snacks (e.g. cereal bars), and beverages

  • Personal first aid kit and any required medications

  • Sun hat and sunscreen

  • Light gloves and a head covering (bandana, cap, or buff)

  • Sunglasses with UV protection

  • Trekking poles (recommended for descents and joint support)

Winter Hiking & Snowshoeing Gear

For trips in snowy conditions between December and early April.

  • Insulated, waterproof boots suitable for snow

  • Waterproof pants and windproof/shell jacket

  • Down jacket or warm insulated layer

  • Long underwear (base layer)

  • Spare warm clothes and long-sleeved shirt

  • Hat, gloves, and spare pair of both

  • Headband, balaclava, or buff

  • Functional winter socks (plus 1 spare pair)

  • Sunglasses and high-SPF sun cream

  • Comfortable rucksack (30L)

  • Gaiters (recommended for deep snow)

  • Trekking poles and a headlamp

  • Day pack with 1 liter of water and snacks

  • Personal first aid kit and any medications

  • Crampons and/or ice axe (if necessary – guide will advise)

Ski Touring Equipment List

For multi-day ski touring adventures (January–April).

  • Comfortable touring rucksack (30–35L) or avalanche safety backpack

  • Waterproof pants and shell jacket

  • Down jacket and spare warm clothing

  • Base layers (top and bottom)

  • Spare gloves, hat, and socks

  • Headband or buff

  • Sunglasses and sun cream

  • Water (minimum 1 liter) and high-energy snacks

  • Headlamp with spare batteries

  • Personal first aid kit and required medications

  • Avalanche safety gear: transceiver (beeper), shovel, probe

  • Ski crampons (harscheisen)

  • Ice axe and/or crampons (if necessary – guide will advise)

Additional Notes

  • All equipment must be suited to mountain conditions.

  • Weather can change rapidly – always pack for cold, wind, and sun.

  • Let your guide know in advance if you’re missing any gear – rentals may be available.

  • For ski touring and winter activities, avalanche gear is mandatory unless stated otherwise.
